Vespa

Vespa. And how I want one.

Y'know when you're designing two new characters who live in Italy and you want to know how old they'd have to be to drive a vespa? And Then end up surfing the net looking for pictures of vespa to help you draw them? And then you wind up on the official site and end up thinking "omigawd i want one of those!" So, then you google how old you have to be to drive one in the UK, and you find out you have to be 16 to drive a 50cc and at 17 you can drive a 125cc so long as you don't have passengers, dont go on the motorway, have L plates and take a CBT every two years until youre old enough to take the official liscence test. Sooo then you go and see if there are any training facilities in your area and it turns out there is one in your little town and you think "hey. If they hadn't changed the law, I'd be learning to drive at 17 anyway, and surely vespas are cheaper than cars, right?".

... Whaddya mean you've never had one of those moments?!

Well yeah, that was my morning. I want one... I want one so badly... It'd be awesome! I wouldnt have to take the smelly bus anymore!!!!! Though Id prob still have to take the train into Manchester... BUT STILL! Also, It'd be great for uni!!

*sigh*~ I've wanted one since like.... FOREVER! I We went to Florence a few years ago and it was like... Vespas... EVERYWHERE!! I mean... srsly! I really want one~!

Hmm... question is... a 50cc or a 125cc?

GAH! If only I lived in Italy I'd probably already have one! Why are laws so complicated...? D<

Curiosity

"Curiosity Killed the Cat". Maybe not today, but curiosity has struck again; and made me paranoid and itchy.
Let's start from the beginning. As I was rifling down behind the back of my desk & bookshelf, looking for some cards, a horrible little silver thing darted past me and wriggled under the skirting board. "UGH!" I thought, "A silverfish!".
Silverfish are little insects that are harmless and like damp places. - we get them a lot in the spring/summer cause we live 'next to' a river.* Now, bugs and insects and such don't tend to bother me much; the bugs round here are all pretty harmless, so I'm not 'scared' of them really. [except for earwigs & centipedes - I don't care how small they are but they have great big pointy fangs!!!! (also, when we were kids, the boys at my school decied it would be hilarious to spread a rumour that earwigs are called that cause when you go to sleep at night they climb into your ear and all the way up to your brain... which, tbh, even though that's not true, they mustve got that name somehow, and it's still possible for them to go in your ear just a little bit which is just horrifying!!)]
But nonetheless, silverfish still creep me out, cause theyre so fast and wriggly and look like they could crawl into your ear...
So, in a bit of stupid curiosity, I decided it'd be fun to google them! I found them on a site called 'whats that bug'[.com], and I now vow never to google a bug EVER again. Because not only did I search earwigs, but I also (out of curiosity) looked at centipedes...
Centipedes.... I can't stand centipedes... One of the reasons I can't stand them is because, like I said earlier, they have great big pointy things, but also, I'm terrified of their overseas brother.... the MUKADE.
The mukade... *shudder*
They live in Japan (and so I'm guessing most of S.E. Asia).
They live in tatami.
They're attracted to carbon dioxide.
They live in pairs.
They live for up to 7 years.
They can grow to be anywhere up to a foot long.
They have giant poisonous fangs.
They can kill a grown man with sed gaint poisonous fangs.
So as you can see, they're pretty damn scary! I've never seen one, and I've haven't been to S.E. Asia (yet), but what I really want to do after 6th form and uni is go to Japan on the JET programme. I'm not gonna let these (horrible) insects stop me from going, but it is something I worry about... Which is thus, why I hate centipedes.
So, unless you want to end up like me, a paranoid and itchy bag of paranoia and itchyness, then don't google any type of bug. Ever.
And for your troubles, here's a picture & video about the mukade...

Answers on a postcard as to what the hell this guy is doing with that on his hand!! ...The loon.

^ watch it... if you dare.
Apparently some of the ways to get rid of these monstrocities is to...
a) use a hell of a lot of chemicals
b) pick it up with chopsticks and fling it out the window.
c) bundle it up in a bed sheet and throw it in the washing machine...
So that's it for now... enjoy :)
*I say 'next to' cause it's more like we're about to fall into the river, more than sit happily beside it.

Cats make great alarm clocks

This morning, as intended, having set my alarm for that time, I woke up at 7.30. But not to my alarm. No, twas my cat that woke me up this morning. As with every Thursday, my mum woke up super early this morning to go to her weekly Business Networking... thingy. So I woke up to an empty house (bar me & the cat). However, my cat gets kinda bored when she's alone, so inevitably, about 2 hours after mums gone, she decides it's time to wake me up. …At the time I intended to wake up. Weird huh? As I was groggily coming round, my alarm went off and I ignored it, and went back to sleep. 10 minutes later, my cat starts meowing again and wakes me up for good. Thankful for the early wake up* I enjoyed 2 hours of kids tv and animal crossing before starting revision at 10.
So there ya have it, cats make the best alarm clocks. I doubt they're very reliable.
And cause of that, even having had only about 4 hours sleep, I've (so far) been the most concentrated I've ever been when revising. EVER. (Though that might also be down to a steady supply of vimto and my mums chair, which I stole from her "office").
In other news, 'mikado' are now on sale in the UK!! 'Mikado' are the European version of pocky. (Actually, they're exactly the same, just with a different name. - They're still made by Glico). And They're FINALLY available here!! XD the advert is so funny... but the French ad is even better!
In other other news, I have realised a rather peculiar fact about myself. And it is this;
Over the past week or so, I have been watching an INSANE amount of films.
Tis really rather worrying. Thus, I have decided to make a seperate blog for my little 'mini-reviews'.

There's nothing up yet, but there wil be soon!!
Well, that's about it for now! So long!!

*I do not usually get up at 7.30am. However, as I now have to revise everyday; my free time is precious. Therefore, I get up early so I can have 2 hours free time before I start working. XP

DSiLOVEYOU!!

HUZZAH FOR WIRELESS INTERNET I SAY!! HUZZAH!
But most of all, yaay for internet access from my bed!! My DSi came yesterday! yaaaaay! It's super duper special extra super awesomeness on a stick!! SRSLY. As a free gift, when you first register your DSi on the DSi shop, you get 1000 DSi points to spend on lovely goodies such as mini games and handy apps! There are also free things in the DSi shop too, such as an internet software (which I'm currently using now). So far there's not that much up in the DSi shop right now, but it's expected to be updated every so often. I do recommend 'Wario Ware Snapped' though. It was 500 DSi points, but it's well worth it! It's seriously addictive!! My friend and I had much hilarity with it earlier!! XD
I FINALLY broke up for the Easter holidays on Thursday!! Whoooo~!! We splattered a creme egg on the ground at school. (threw it out of the 3rd floor window).
Wednesday was our school's 10th birthday, so the whole school had a fun day! We watched a DVD, did karaoke, went on an inflatable assault course, bucking bronco, bungee trampolines, the lot!!Plus! Pizza for lunch! And jelly & ice cream for desert!! Ahhh twas a great day had by all!! Unfortunately though, we have very little time before the exams. We have our Easter ~holidays~(aka revision time) till 27th April, then we go on study leave on 8th May!! And the following Monday is our first exam!! (RS).
