A quick break, a hello, and away we go

こんにちはとはじめまして!!『サムライ-ジャム』です!!私は日本語は少しはなせます。
Why hallo thar! After a long time of being blog-less, I've finally decided to get myself a blog.
I'll start off with a few likes & dislikes;
Likes - manga, candy, food, video games, drawing, art, big scary theme park rides, and summer
Dislikes - exams, school, maths, the cold, being ill
Fave anime/manga: Soul Eater
Fave Food & drink: Teriyaki, lots of candy, cream soda
Fave ride: Oblivion!!!!! (but nemesis and air are also awesome!)
Favourite season: SUMMER!!
Hobbies: drawing, reading manga, hanging out with my friends, people watching (in the least-stalker-like way), I am an obsessive soul eater fan, and an obsessive Heroes fan!
Life Goal: To travel the world & experience different cultures.

So, moving onto the blogness. Today is the first day of March, and already it feels more like spring by the day! The air is clearer, and it's very slowly getting warmer. To me, the sun always makes me feel good! Take today for example, Im'm bogged down with work, and it looks like there's no way around it, then all of a sudden the sun shines through the window (admitedly, almost blinding me...) and suddenly, everything feels better, clearer, brighter. So, be happy everyone! cause after the exams are all over, we have almost 3 months of freedom and frivolity in the blissfull sun!! HYA-HOOOOOOO!!
But in the mean-time, it's study study study study study study study. Even I myself am beginning to turn over a new leaf, and work flat out. I realised yesterday (having spent the whole day slaving over maths, and then spend the whole night watching the live action Death Note movie), that fun things, like watching the network premiere of an uber popular live action film version of an equally uber popular manga late at night, is a lot more fun after a day's work. I suppose, it's because you've more or less 'earnt' it?
On that subject, it;s time to talk a little about the movie!! So last night, I watched the live action Death Note movie ON TV!!! [note: this is a very special occassion, as it is extremely rare to find anime on english tv, even on sky, let alone one of the top films on FREE tv!!!!!] So, without furhter ado, here is a mini 'Death Note' review;

'Death Note' movie poster
 It was.... SO good!! Amazingly, this is actually the first time I've watched a Japanese film that isn't an animation. There's something a little different about the way things are done in Japanese films, compared to Western films... it's hard to explain, but whether it's the acting style, or the camera work, I know that there are quite alot of westerners who don't like it, and I can understand why the style isn't always preferred when it's up against big-shot Hollywood productions. Admitedly, the special affects in 'Death Note' are a little rough around the edges; The CG work on Ryuk was very well done, however, I can tell that, had it been done in an American production, the CG would look more life-like... (In short, you could tell Ryuk was made in CG). However, I really liked the style and feel of the movie, it was such that you could tell it was foreign, and that I like. In some senses, the camera work and such made it feel more hand-made[?] (that's probably not the right term...) But it felt more as if the actors, directors etc. had really worked hard on this film, whereas you tend to forget about that in Western films. Another thing I'd like to note about 'Death Note' being on tv last night is, It was subtitled!!!!!! I LOVE YOU FILM4!!! I TRULY TRULY LOVE YOUUUU!!! I don't have anything against people watching dubbed films/shows, whichever you feel more comfortable with; but I feel I can't really appreciate the movie/show if it's dubbed, so I always watch it in the original language when possible. So, even if it was dubbed I still would've watched it, but I was so glad when I realised it was sub-titled!! (Though, it took me a while to realise.... I guess I'm so used to subtitles now that it's just natural!! haha I was a few minutes in and then I realised, "Oh!! OHHHH! oh thank god its not dubbed!"). As for the characters, they were all played really well! And Watari was awesome!! he was so sweet...
L is just the same in the movie as he is in the manga~!
And I loved L's eating habits... there was one scene, when he handed a load of sweets and cookies on a stick to Yagami-san (as in Light's father) with a sort of air of  "care for a load of sugar on a stick anyone?" Another awesome scene was when Yagami and the rest of the Kira investigation team first met L;
[after Yagami-san etc. all introduced themselves]
L: "BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG!!!"
XD
Even more exciting is that 'Death Note2' is on next Saturday as well!!
Well, I better wrap things up for now! See you all again soon~
Byyeee~
